The purpose of How to Read the Bible is to acquaint the student with the various literature types of the Bible, so when they read certain parts of it, they will understand how to interpret it. For example, poetry is interpreted differently than narrative.
The five literature types are:
Historical narrative….Genesis thru Ester & Matthew thru Acts
Poetry…Job thru Song of Songs
Prophetic…Isaiah thru Malachi
Didactic….Romans thru Jude
Apocalyptic…Revelation & parts of Daniel & Ezekiel
